Nippers season is just around the corner with registrations open and pool swims starting next month. Our first Nippers carnival is in October and whilst that may feel a few months away, we all know how quickly these things can creep up on us.

Our Nippers club needs Officials to volunteer, this allows us to send our kids to participate in carnivals. Becoming an official is great way to get front row seats and watch your kids compete. It is a very supportive environment. As an official you generally help out at 3-4 carnivals a year. You choose what carnivals to volunteer at and register through the self service portal. On the day you are looked after with catering and an opportunity to grab a cold drink at the end of the day with the other officials.

In readiness for the face to face session, there is some online learning that you can do anytime between now and date. Following the face to face session you start as a Probationary Official, which is great because you get supported until you and your supervisor feel you are ready to move to a fully fledged Official.

I have been an Official for 18 months now and I find it a great way to learn more about surf sports (which helps me support my daughter) and give back to the club, in particular to the Age Mangers that are with our kids week in and week out.

Feel free to reach out for a chat if you would like to learn more.
The flyer has the registration link in it, registrations are due 30th July 2021
